Description: This project focused on creating a broadside poster based off of a poem of choice. The poem that I chose was called Rising by Rachel Huckle. The poem is all about the beauty of rising each morning. It holds themes of fresh starts, new beginnings, and small victories. Often, when I wake up in the morning, the first thing I do is pull open the blind and let the light in. This action represents a fresh start. I chose to put the words in between the blinds and have the title rising onto the page as the name reflects. The result is a piece that is simplistic and fresh, bringing beauty to the mundane.
